Cookie policy
Last updated: October 7, 2026
This cookie policy explains the cookies and browser storage used on Atomato's website, in the Atomato app and on Shopify stores that use Atomato. Atomato is a trade name of Binaery LLC (“Atomato,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). How we handle personal information is explained in our privacy policy.
Who this policy covers
- Visitors to atomato.co. Our website, help center and blog at www.atomato.co.
- Merchants who use the Atomato app. The app opens inside the Shopify admin.
- Shoppers on stores that use Atomato. Each store is run by its merchant, and the merchant's own privacy policy and cookie notice govern that store. This policy only describes what Atomato's code stores there.
Cookies and browser storage
A cookie is a small piece of data that a website saves in your browser. Local storage and session storage are similar browser features. Items in local storage stay until they are cleared, by you, by your browser or by the code that saved them. Items in session storage last until you close the browser tab.
We last checked the items on this page on October 7, 2026, by loading atomato.co in Google Chrome and by reviewing the code of our website and app.
On atomato.co
atomato.co runs on Shopify. It uses Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager, a few items of its own, and Shopify's standard storefront cookies. The site also runs the Atomato app, so the items listed below under On stores that use Atomato can be saved on atomato.co too.
Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
The site loads Google Tag Manager container GTM-NNHHVZ7L. On October 7, 2026, the container held two tags, both for Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-XR3FR1LKK7), and loaded no other vendor:
- The Google tag, which runs on every page. It measures page views, scrolling, clicks on links to other sites, site searches, video plays, file downloads and form interactions.
- An event tag that records four actions: clicks on links to Atomato's Shopify App Store listing, answers to Was this article helpful? on help articles, clicks on the footer links that ask an AI assistant about Atomato, and opening and finishing the See it in action demo.
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google Analytics starts with analytics and advertising storage turned off. While storage is off, Google's tags don't store cookies and send Google only measurements without cookies. Everywhere else, storage starts turned on. If Shopify's cookie banner is shown to you, your choice there replaces these starting settings: your analytics choice controls analytics storage, and your marketing choice controls advertising storage.
We advertise on Google. When advertising storage is on, Google's tags may also set advertising cookies, for example after you click a Google ad. Google lists these cookies on its advertising cookies page.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics. Tells one browser's visits apart from another's. | Cookie | Up to 2 years | |
| _ga_XR3FR1LKK7 | Google Analytics. Keeps track of the current visit. | Cookie | Up to 2 years | |
| atomato:attribution | Atomato | Saved only when the address you arrived at carries campaign details (utm_ parameters, or a Google ad click, which is saved as source google and medium cpc). They are added to our links to the Shopify App Store, so we can see which campaign led to an install. | Session storage | Until you close the tab |
| Names that start with atomato-help-vote: and end with the article's handle | Atomato | Remembers your Yes or No answer on a help article, so the question isn't shown again. | Local storage | Until cleared |
| atomato:fight-best, atomato:fight-badges, atomato:fight-gold and atomato:fight-sound | Atomato | The game in the site footer, on desktop. Saved only when you play: your best score, the badges you've earned, whether you've won, and whether sound is on. | Local storage | Until cleared |
| custom-transition-type | Atomato (site theme) | The name of the animation for the next page, when a page change uses a special transition. | Session storage | Removed after the transition |
Shopify
Shopify sets its own cookies on every Shopify store, including atomato.co. In our check, Shopify set the four cookies below. Shopify's cookie policy describes them, and the other cookies Shopify may set, for example when you use a cart or checkout.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| localization | Shopify | Sets the country for your cart. | Cookie | 1 year |
| _shopify_essential | Shopify | Keeps the store working, with session and checkout details and anti-tampering data. | Cookie | 1 year |
| _shopify_analytics | Shopify | Analytics for the storefront and checkout. | Cookie | 1 year |
| _shopify_marketing | Shopify | Marketing data for the storefront and checkout. | Cookie | 1 year |
Shopify's storefront scripts also keep a few items in browser storage. In our check these were shopify:webmcp_adapter_loaded in local storage, and consentHeader, __shopify_agent_context_events, _shs_state and items starting with wpm-ri- or ri- in session storage. Shopify controls these items.
In our check, pages on atomato.co contacted these outside services: www.googletagmanager.com, analytics.google.com and stats.g.doubleclick.net (Google), and cdn.shopify.com, otlp-http-production.shopifysvc.com and app-atomato.myshopify.com, the site's own Shopify store address (Shopify).
In the Atomato app
The Atomato app opens inside your Shopify admin and loads from app.atomato.co. Shopify handles sign-in. Atomato keeps your store's Shopify session in its own database, not in a cookie in your browser. The Shopify admin around the app uses Shopify's own cookies, which Shopify's cookie policy describes.
The app keeps these items in your browser. None of them is needed to sign in.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| pinnedItems | Atomato | The campaign types you pin in the menu at the top of a campaign page. | Local storage | Until cleared |
| recentColors | Atomato | Up to 12 colors you've recently picked in the color picker. | Local storage | Until cleared |
| floatingHelperHideUntil | Atomato | Hides the Leave a review button once you've clicked it or opened onboarding. | Local storage | Until cleared |
| atomato:currentPath and atomato:lastPath | Atomato | The page you're on in the app and the one before it. If a page crashes, the previous page is included in the error report to our team. | Session storage | Until you close the tab |
| home_performance_email_sms_capture_dismissed | Atomato | Hides the email and SMS capture suggestion on the Home page after you dismiss it. | Session storage | Until you close the tab |
Video guides
Some pages in the app offer video guides hosted by Loom. The Loom player loads only when you open a guide. The Help & Support page also shows a preview image from Loom. Loom may set its own cookies when its player loads. See Loom's cookie policy.
On stores that use Atomato
When a merchant installs Atomato, two pieces of Atomato code can run on the store:
- The storefront script, which shows the bell, feed and messages. The Atomato app embed loads it.
- Atomato's web pixel, which reports message activity and sales that follow a click on a message. Atomato connects it when the merchant installs the app, and it runs in Shopify's pixel sandbox.
The store belongs to the merchant. The merchant's own privacy policy and cookie notice govern the store, and the merchant decides how they describe Atomato. Atomato processes this data on the merchant's behalf, as our privacy policy explains.
Atomato's code doesn't set cookies. It uses local storage and session storage. Adding a NotiSell product to the cart or applying a NotiEmail discount code uses Shopify's own cart, like the rest of the store, and Shopify sets its own storefront cookies on every store.
Saved for every shopper
The storefront script doesn't check the shopper's privacy choices, so it saves these items for every shopper:
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| notifeed_seen_ids, notisell_seen_ids, notiemail_seen_ids and notipop_seen_ids | Atomato | The messages the shopper has seen, so the bell's count clears and a NotiPop doesn't show again. | Local storage | Until cleared |
| atomato_seen_ followed by the campaign type | Atomato | Which events each message has already reported, so later ones count as repeats. | Local storage | Until cleared |
| atomato_notiemail_progress | Atomato | Saved only for signup forms whose success step shows a discount code: the email address or phone number the shopper entered and the code shown, so the form can show the success step and the code again. | Local storage | Entries older than 30 days are removed the next time the script reads this item |
| atomato_cache_ followed by a number | Atomato | NotiSell product details, reused for 5 minutes. | Session storage | Until you close the tab |
Saved only when Shopify lets the pixel run
Shopify decides when Atomato's pixel runs, based on each shopper's choices in the store's cookie banner or privacy settings. The pixel tells Shopify that it is used for analytics and marketing, and it is set not to run for shoppers who opt out of the sale or sharing of their data. When it runs, it saves:
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| atomato_revenue_session | Atomato | After a click on a NotiFeed, NotiPop or NotiSell message: a random session ID, the campaign and product clicked, the click time and the device type, so later carts and orders can be linked to that click. | Local storage | Removed after an order, or when read more than 30 days after the click |
| atomato_queue and atomato_revenue_queue | Atomato | Events waiting to be sent to Atomato. | Session storage | Removed once sent, which the pixel tries every 5 seconds |
The pixel sends these events to Atomato's analytics service, which runs on Supabase.
Merchants: our help article How Atomato works with Shopify's customer privacy settings explains what else the storefront script sends to Atomato. Whether your cookie banner and privacy notice should mention Atomato or browser storage is your decision. Check with your own legal adviser.
How to change your choices
On atomato.co
- Use your browser's settings to block or delete cookies. Clearing a site's data also removes its local storage and session storage.
- To stop Google Analytics on all websites, install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- If Shopify's cookie banner is shown to you, accept or decline analytics and marketing there. Google Analytics follows that choice.
- Google explains how it uses information from websites that use its services in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
In the Atomato app
- Clear the site data for app.atomato.co in your browser to remove the items listed above. Your campaigns and app settings are kept in Atomato's database, not in your browser, so they aren't affected.
- Loom's player loads only if you open a video guide.
On stores that use Atomato
- Use the store's cookie banner or privacy settings. They decide whether Atomato's pixel runs.
- Clear the store's site data in your browser to remove the items Atomato saved. Messages you've already seen may show again.
- For questions about a store's privacy practices, contact that store.
