ABOUT

Drip and Atomato

Drip is an email marketing platform for ecommerce stores. Connect it to Atomato and the email address a shopper enters in a NotiEmail signup goes to your Drip account as a subscriber.

Custom fields record the campaign the signup came from, any answer to a Question step and the first name when you collect it, so you can build a Drip segment for each signup form. Atomato doesn't use Drip data to decide who sees a campaign.

What Atomato does with Drip

  • No list to pickChoose Drip in the Email Opt-in step. Every signup creates or updates a Drip subscriber by email address.
  • A custom field for every campaignatomato_128 is set to notiemail, so you can build a Drip segment for each signup form.
  • Answers in a custom fieldAnswers from a Question step are saved in atomato_128_question, several together as one text value.
  • First namesWith Collect first name on, Drip gets the name in first_name and atomato_128_name.
  • Existing subscribers kept intactIf the email address is already in Drip, Atomato keeps the subscriber's other custom fields.
  • No double signupsA repeat signup through the same campaign leaves Drip unchanged, and the shopper still reaches Success with the discount code if you added one.

WHAT SYNCS

What Atomato sends to Drip

Each row is a field Atomato fills on the Drip subscriber. {id} is the campaign's ID, such as 128.

Data Drip field When
Email address email When the shopper finishes or skips the last step before Success
Campaign marker: notiemail atomato_{id} Every signup
Question step answers, saved together as one text value atomato_{id}_question When the shopper answers a Question step
First name first_name When Collect first name is on and the shopper enters one. It replaces the first name in Drip
First name, kept with the campaign atomato_{id}_name When Collect first name is on and the shopper enters one
The subscriber's other custom fields, sent back so they're kept custom_fields When the email address is already in Drip

Atomato sends no subscription status, tags, last name or events, and doesn't add subscribers to a Drip campaign or workflow. Your Disclosure Language isn't sent either, so check in Drip how subscribers added this way are treated and whether the emails you rely on run for them.

Where you set it up in Atomato

Connect Drip once with your API key and Account ID, then pick it in the Email Opt-in step of any NotiEmail campaign.

Drip needs both an API key and your numeric Account ID.

SETUP

Set up Drip in four steps

Connect Drip once, then pick it in each NotiEmail signup. The connection only sends signups to Drip. Atomato doesn't read Drip data to decide who sees a campaign.

01

Find your key and Account ID

In Drip, your API token is in your user settings. Your Account ID is the number in the web address while you're signed in to Drip. Enter the digits only.

02

Connect Drip in Atomato

Click Integrations in the sidebar, then Connect on the Drip card. Paste both and click Connect Drip. Atomato checks them by reading your Drip subscribers, and the card then shows Manage.

03

Pick Drip in a signup

In a NotiEmail campaign's Email Opt-in step, choose Drip under Choose an integration. There's no list to pick: every signup goes to your Drip account as a subscriber.

04

Subscribers arrive in Drip

When a shopper finishes the last step before Success, Atomato creates or updates the subscriber with the email address and atomato_ custom fields, plus the first name if you collect it.

FAQ

Questions about Drip and Atomato

Short answers on plans, connecting, what Drip receives and repeat signups, each linked to the help article that covers it in full.

Which plan do I need to send signups to Drip?

Enterprise+. Integrations are on the same plan as NotiEmail, the signup form that sends contacts to Drip, and legacy paid plans such as Grow and Pro keep them too. On Free and Scale, the Integrations page shows Integrations are on Enterprise+ with a Compare plans button. See pricing.

What do I need from Drip to connect?

Your Drip API key and your Drip Account ID. The Go to Drip Dashboard link on the Drip Integration page opens your user settings in Drip, where your API token is. The Account ID is the number in the web address while you're signed in to Drip, so enter the digits only. Atomato checks the pair by reading your Drip subscribers, and if Drip turns it down, Drip stays Not connected. The saved key is shown in full on the Drip Integration page to anyone who can open Atomato. See Connect Drip to Atomato and where Atomato uses your integration API keys.

What does Drip receive for each signup?

The shopper's email address and these custom fields, where the ID identifies the campaign: atomato_{id}, set to notiemail; atomato_{id}_question, with the answer from a Question step if the campaign has one; and atomato_{id}_name and first_name, when Collect first name is on and the shopper enters one. Several answers are saved as one line of text. Atomato adds no tags and uses no lists in Drip, so build a segment on the campaign's atomato_ field. See what Atomato sends to your email platform.

Does Atomato send a subscription status to Drip?

No. Atomato creates or updates the subscriber with the email address and custom fields, and sends no status. The Disclosure Language shoppers see under the form isn't sent either. Check in Drip how subscribers added without a status are treated, and whether any confirmation or welcome email you rely on runs for them. What your wording and settings need to cover is a question for your legal adviser. See what shoppers see and what Atomato sends when they sign up.

What if the shopper is already in Drip?

Atomato keeps the subscriber's other custom fields and adds the new ones, so a signup through a different campaign adds that campaign's fields next to the first. If the shopper already signed up through the same campaign, Atomato leaves Drip as it is, and the shopper still moves on to your Success step, with the discount code if Add discount is on. See Connect Drip to Atomato.

Can Drip take SMS signups?

No. Drip takes email signups only and isn't offered in the SMS Opt-in step. In a campaign whose email step uses Drip, you can still send phone numbers from NotiSMS to Klaviyo. Mailchimp takes phone numbers only when the email step also uses Mailchimp. See Send SMS signups to Klaviyo or Mailchimp.

What happens if a signup doesn't reach Drip?

The shopper sees no error: the form stays on the same step, and Atomato keeps no copy of the signup. Atomato checks your key and Account ID only when you connect, so if you replace or delete the key in Drip, signups fail while Atomato still shows Connected. Once your campaign is live, sign up with an email address you own and check that it appears in Drip. See why signups aren't reaching your platform.
