Connect Drip to Atomato
Connect Drip with your API key and Account ID, then send NotiEmail signups to Drip as subscribers with Atomato custom fields.
Connecting Drip lets Atomato send the email addresses shoppers enter in a NotiEmail signup form to your Drip account as subscribers. You need two things from Drip: your API key and your Account ID.
Before you start
Integrations and NotiEmail are part of the Enterprise+ plan. On Free and Scale, the Integrations page shows Integrations are on Enterprise+ with a Compare plans button.
- API key: the Go to Drip Dashboard link on the Drip Integration page opens your user settings in Drip, where your API token is.
- Account ID: the number in the web address while you are signed in to Drip. Enter the digits only.
The connection only sends signups to Drip. Atomato doesn't read Drip data to decide who sees a campaign. For what each integration does, see Which tools does Atomato integrate with?
Connect from the Integrations page
In Atomato, click Integrations in the sidebar, then Connect on the Drip card under Email & SMS Marketing.
- Paste your key into Drip API key and your Account ID into Drip Account ID. The key field's placeholder starts with
pk_, but your Drip key doesn't need to. - Click Connect Drip.
Atomato checks the pair by reading your Drip subscribers. When Drip accepts it, the key field's badge changes to Connected, and the Drip card on the Integrations page shows Manage. If Drip turns it down, an error starting with Invalid Drip API key or Account ID appears, and Drip stays Not connected. To change either value later, edit the field and click Update API key.
Connect from a NotiEmail campaign
In a NotiEmail campaign's Email Opt-in step, under Choose an integration, click Drip. If Drip isn't connected yet, the Connect Drip window opens. Fill in Drip private API key and Drip Account ID, then click Connect. Once Drip accepts them, Drip is selected for the step.
The window lists Subscribers · Read, Subscribers · Write and Tags · Write under Required scopes for this key. Atomato uses the key to look up, add and update subscribers. It adds no tags and uses no lists in Drip.
If the connection fails for any reason, the window shows API Key and Account ID are required. It also appears when both fields are filled in but Drip rejects them, so check both values before you try again. For other connection problems, see Fix integration connection errors.
No list to choose
Once Drip is chosen, the step shows Drip with the line New subscribers are added to Drip and tagged, followed by atomato_ and an ID. Every signup goes to your Drip account as a subscriber, and in Drip the ID shows up as a custom field, not a tag. To pick a different platform, open the Edit menu and click Change integration.
What shows up in Drip
Atomato sends the signup when the shopper finishes the last step before Success.
In Drip, the subscriber gets these custom fields, where the ID identifies the campaign:
-
atomato_{id}, set tonotiemail -
atomato_{id}_question, with the shopper's answer from a Question step, if the campaign has one -
atomato_{id}_nameandfirst_name, when Collect first name is on and the shopper enters one
If the email address is already in Drip, Atomato keeps the subscriber's other custom fields and adds these. If that shopper already signed up through the same campaign, Atomato leaves Drip as it is and the shopper moves on to the Success step. For the full picture, see What does Atomato send to my email platform?
When Drip rejects a signup, the shopper sees no error: the form stays on the same step. Once your campaign is live, sign up with an email address you own and check that it appears in Drip.
SMS signups
Drip isn't offered in the SMS Opt-in step, so send phone numbers to Klaviyo. Mailchimp only appears there alongside a Mailchimp email step, and Attentive is greyed out because it is Coming soon. See Send SMS signups to Klaviyo or Mailchimp.
