Connect SKIO and show messages to subscribers

Connect SKIO, add the webhook and show NotiFeed or NotiPop messages to subscribers by renewal date, cycles or credits.

Connect SKIO to show NotiFeed and NotiPop messages only to signed-in shoppers who match your SKIO rules, such as a renewal coming up, and to fill in details like their renewal date. Integrations are on the Enterprise+ plan.

SKIO messages only reach signed-in shoppers, and only while the Atomato app embed is on. See Turn on the Atomato app embed.

Connect SKIO

  1. In Atomato, click Integrations in the sidebar. Under Subscriptions, click Connect on the SKIO card.
  2. Paste a private API key from your SKIO dashboard into SKIO API key. Go to SKIO Dashboard opens SKIO's API key page.
  3. Optional: once you type a key, SKIO API key for backend (optional) appears. If you fill it in, Atomato uses it for webhook updates.
  4. Click Copy next to SKIO Webhook URL and add the URL in SKIO under Settings > Webhooks. The link under this field opens the API key page instead.
  5. Optional: paste a webhook secret token from SKIO into SKIO Webhook Secret Token (optional). Atomato then rejects webhook calls that don't include it.
  6. Click Connect SKIO.

The badge changes to Connected, with Update and Disconnect buttons. Atomato doesn't check the key with SKIO, so test it with a campaign.

Create a SKIO campaign

On the SKIO Integration page, click + Create NotiFeed or + Create NotiPop. Both stay greyed out until SKIO is connected. Only these campaigns, and their duplicates, get an Integration rules section, one per message. For the rest, see Create your first campaign.

Set your SKIO rules

The first rule starts as Renewal date and Is within next, with no number. Enter one: a number rule left blank never matches, and the editor still lets you save it.

  • Renewal date: days until the customer's next renewal. Is within last matches a renewal date that has passed, and Is lower than can too.
  • Subscription cycles count: completed cycles on the subscription that renews next.
  • Days since cancel: days since the customer's latest cancellation. Customers who never cancelled don't match.
  • Loyalty points: the customer's SKIO reward credits, the same number as the Loyalty credits variable.
  • Has active subscription: True or False. False only matches customers in SKIO with no active subscription.

Under Conditions must match:, choose all conditions or any condition, and click Add rule for more rows. Rules for low cycles or points also match signed-in customers SKIO doesn't know, who count as zero. To reach only subscribers, add Has active subscription Is equal to True with all conditions.

Personalize with SKIO variables

In the Description field, click SKIO variables to insert Customer first name, Customer last name, Loyalty credits or Renewal date. They appear as {customer.name}, {customer.last_name}, {skio.credits} and {skio.renewal_date}. Each customer sees their own values, with the renewal date in the language they shop in.

A variable with no value shows as blank, so write copy that reads well without it. For signed-in shoppers, Atomato treats any text in curly braces as a variable, so don't use braces for anything else.

Check that it works

The preview always shows the campaign you are editing, whatever its SKIO rules, with variables as typed. See Preview a campaign before it goes live.

To test for real, give a test customer a SKIO subscription first, since Atomato keeps what it looks up for a day. Save the campaign as Active, sign in to your store as that customer and open two pages.

When SKIO messages show

Atomato looks up a signed-in customer's SKIO data in the background on their first page view while a SKIO campaign is active, and again once it is over a day old. Messages show only on later pages, once the lookup finishes. SKIO's webhook can also update customers Atomato already knows when subscriptions, rewards, credits or discounts change.

Disconnect SKIO

Click Disconnect on the SKIO Integration page and confirm in the Disconnect SKIO window. Every NotiFeed and NotiPop campaign with SKIO rules moves to Draft and stays there if you reconnect, and your keys and token are cleared. See Update or disconnect an integration.
