Connect Klaviyo to Atomato

Connect Klaviyo with a private API key so the email signups your NotiEmail campaigns collect are added to a Klaviyo list. You can do this from the Integrations page or inside a NotiEmail campaign.

Before you start

• Integrations and NotiEmail are part of the Enterprise+ plan. On Free and Scale, the Integrations page shows Integrations are on Enterprise+ with a Compare plans button.
• Create a private API key in Klaviyo and give it the scopes Atomato asks for: List · Read, List · Write and Profile · Write.

Atomato checks a new key by reading your Klaviyo lists, which only needs List · Read. A key without List · Write or Profile · Write still connects, but signups then fail, so set all three.

Connect Klaviyo from the Integrations page

1. In Atomato, click Integrations in the sidebar.
2. Under Email & SMS Marketing, click Connect on the Klaviyo card.
3. On the Klaviyo Integration page, paste your key into Klaviyo API key. If you don't have a key yet, Go to Klaviyo Dashboard opens Klaviyo's API keys page.
4. Click Connect Klaviyo.

If Klaviyo rejects the key, an error message shows Klaviyo's reason and the key isn't saved. Once it works, the badge in the field changes from Not connected to Connected, and the buttons change to Update API key and Disconnect.

Or connect it while building a NotiEmail campaign

1. On the campaign's Setup tab, under Notification steps, click Email Opt-in. If it's missing, click Step, then Add Email Opt-in.
2. In the Email integrations card, under Choose an integration, click Klaviyo.
3. In the Connect Klaviyo window, paste your key into Klaviyo private API key. Create a key in Klaviyo opens Klaviyo's API keys page.
4. Click Connect. The button reads Verifying while Atomato checks the key. If Klaviyo rejects it, the reason shows under the field.

Both routes save the same connection. Once Klaviyo is connected, clicking Klaviyo in any NotiEmail campaign skips this window and goes straight to the list. For the rest of the signup form, see Collect email and SMS signups in the feed.

Choose the Klaviyo list

1. Click Email list *. Atomato loads up to 10 of your Klaviyo lists.
2. Type to filter them. To find a list that isn't among those 10, type its full name exactly as it appears in Klaviyo.
3. Click the list. Signups from the campaign are added to it.

The card now shows Selected list with the list's name, which opens that list in Klaviyo. To change it later, hover over Edit and choose Edit list or Change integration.

If you save the campaign before picking a list, Atomato doesn't save it, even as a draft, and shows Choose an email list before publishing this campaign.

What Atomato adds in Klaviyo

Atomato sends a signup when the shopper finishes the last step before Success. If another step comes after Email Opt-in, a shopper who leaves before finishing it isn't sent. For each signup, Atomato:

• Creates a Klaviyo profile with the shopper's email, and their first name if the campaign asks for it. If a profile with that email already exists, Atomato updates it instead.
• Adds the profile to the list you chose.
• Adds custom profile properties named with the campaign's ID: atomato_{id}, plus atomato_{id}_question for answers to a Question step and atomato_{id}_name for the first name.

In Klaviyo, look for atomato_{id} among the profile's custom properties, not its tags. For every field, see What does Atomato send to my email platform?

A signup that fails shows no error to the shopper: the form just stays on the same step. After you publish, sign up once on your store with your own email and check that the profile appears in your Klaviyo list. If it doesn't, see Fix integration connection errors.
