Can I hide the bell on some pages?
Yes. Turn the bell off by device in Settings, or keep it off chosen pages with your feed campaigns' targeting rules.
Yes. You can switch the bell off on desktop or on mobile in Settings, and keep it off chosen pages with targeting rules, because Atomato adds the bell only where a NotiFeed, NotiSell or NotiEmail campaign shows.
Hide the bell on desktop or mobile
- Click Settings in the sidebar, then NotiFeed styling.
- Under Display behavior, go to Visibility and pick the Desktop or Mobile tab.
- Switch off Show on this device. The settings below it fold away.
- Click Save.
This covers NotiFeed, NotiSell and NotiEmail. Shoppers open the feed only from the bell, so feed messages stay hidden on that device. NotiPop messages still show. For how Atomato tells desktop from mobile, see Does Atomato work on mobile?
Leave Show on this device on for at least one tab. To hide the feed on every device, pause your NotiFeed, NotiSell and NotiEmail campaigns instead.
Keep the bell off certain pages
The bell has no page list of its own, so leave the page out of every NotiFeed, NotiSell and NotiEmail message:
- Click Campaigns in the sidebar, then Edit on the campaign's row. Stay on the Setup tab. In NotiEmail, click the Feed step. For a NotiFeed campaign with several messages, do this for each message.
- If Target visitors based on is off, switch it on. If it is already on, leave it: switching it off clears the rules.
- Keep Conditions must match: on all conditions, so no other rule can bring the message back.
- Click Add rule, choose Page URL and Does not contain, then enter part of the page address, for example
/products/to leave out product pages. - Click Save campaign.
Page URL checks the path after your domain and ignores capital letters. To show the bell only on one page or section, use Is equal to or Contains instead. Every rule type is covered in Show a campaign on certain pages, devices or carts.
A NotiFeed or NotiSell message with a cart or Exit Intent rule adds the bell when that rule is met. Who is browsing counts too: if every feed message is shown only to signed-in customers under Customer Segments, shoppers who aren't signed in see no bell.
If you added the bell with the snippet
With Add using snippet under Advanced placement options, the bell is part of your theme's header code. It shows on every page with that header, and targeting rules can't remove it. On a page with no feed message, clicking it does nothing.
To let campaigns decide where the bell appears, click Choose bell placement or select Add using CSS selector, click Save, and remove the snippet from your theme. See Add the notification bell to your store.
<div data-atomato-bell></div>A bell tab at the edge of the screen
That tab is NotiPop's Sticky alert tab, which lets shoppers reopen closed NotiPop messages. The steps above don't affect it. To remove it, go to Settings > NotiPop styling, choose Hide it completely under Display behavior, then click Save.
