Does Atomato work on mobile?
Yes. Set the bell and feed separately for mobile, target by device, and see where NotiPop sits on small screens.
Yes. The bell, the feed, NotiPop messages and NotiEmail and NotiSMS signup forms all adapt to phone screens. You can set the bell and feed separately for mobile, and show a campaign only on mobile or only on desktop.
What counts as mobile
Atomato goes by the width of the shopper's browser window, not the device. A window up to 740 pixels wide counts as mobile for targeting, and below 740 pixels the bell and feed use their mobile settings. A wider tablet counts as desktop.
Set the bell and feed for mobile
These settings cover every campaign that shows in the feed.
- In Atomato, go to Settings > NotiFeed styling.
- In Display behavior, under Visibility, click Mobile.
- Leave Show on this device on to show the bell on phones, or turn it off to hide it there.
- With the bell showing, pick where the feed opens under Feed position: Bottom left, Bottom center or Bottom right.
- Under Bell styling, set the mobile bell's colors, Bell thickness and Icon size.
- Click Save.
If you hide the bell on mobile, shoppers on phones have no way to open the feed. NotiPop messages still appear.
With the bell in your header, Choose bell placement asks for a spot on desktop and then a spot on mobile. See Add the notification bell to your store.
How the feed behaves on a phone
Tapping the bell opens the feed at the position you chose. Tapping outside the feed closes it. Scrolling the page closes it too, unless the shopper is typing in a field. NotiEmail and NotiSMS forms fit their height to the screen.
NotiPop on small screens
On screens 600 pixels wide or less, NotiPop messages sit along the bottom of the screen at full width with a small margin. On wider screens, NotiPop uses the Desktop position set in Settings > NotiPop styling. Up to three NotiPop messages can be on screen at once.
Show a campaign only on mobile or desktop
- Open the campaign's Setup tab. For NotiEmail and NotiSMS, open the Feed step.
- Switch on Target visitors based on and click Add rule.
- Change the new rule from Page URL to Device, keep Is, then pick Mobile or Desktop.
- Click Save campaign.
Each message has its own rules, so add the rule to each message you want to limit. Device targeting is included on every plan, and Atomato checks the window width each time a page loads. See Show a campaign on certain pages, devices or carts for the other rule types.
An Exit Intent rule waits for the mouse pointer to leave the top of the window, which doesn't happen on a phone.
To check the look, click Preview on mobile in the campaign editor. The campaign you're editing always shows there, whatever its Device rule. See Preview a campaign before it goes live.
