Add an announcement to the NotiFeed
Write a feed message, choose what a click does and, on paid plans, add up to six messages to one NotiFeed campaign.
A NotiFeed campaign adds your announcement to the feed that shoppers open from the bell on your store. On paid plans, one campaign can hold up to six messages.
Before you start
Set up the bell and turn on the Atomato app embed first. See Add the notification bell to your store.
NotiFeed is on every plan. On Free (the app also calls it Starter), a campaign has one message and only one NotiFeed campaign can be active. While one is active, you can't save another, even as a draft, until you pause or delete it or upgrade.
Write the message
- Click Create Campaign in the sidebar and open Promote a sale or launch. Click Use template on a template, or Build your own to start blank.
- Enter a Campaign name, which shoppers don't see. It must be unique, up to 35 characters, and use only letters, numbers, spaces, parentheses, hyphens and underscores.
- On the Setup tab, enter the Title (required, up to 120 characters) and the Description (up to 200). Generate text can draft it for you.
- Under Choose image, emoji, or none, pick Image, Emoji or None. A new message starts on Image. With Image or Emoji selected, add one before you save.
Choose what a click does
Under Click behavior, pick one:
- Open link shows the whole message straight away.
- Expand details shows the title and image or emoji first. A click opens the full message in the feed, with the description and any button. With None, it can show as a plain card that doesn't expand.
A click only goes somewhere once you switch on Call to action:
- Button text (up to 30 characters) labels the button. With Open link, leave it empty to make the whole message the link. With Expand details, it is required.
- Button link sets where shoppers go: search your pages, products and collections, or type an address.
- Custom JavaScript (optional) runs your code instead of opening the link, for example to open another app's widget. Add the Button link first: it locks once this box has code, but saving still needs it.
- Open in new tab opens the link in a new tab.
Add more messages to one campaign
On Scale and Enterprise+, Multi notifications sits at the top of the Setup tab. Click Add more to add a message, up to six in all. Each message has its own content, click behavior, audience and targeting. Click a tab to edit that message, drag its handle to reorder, or remove any but the first with its delete icon.
Choose who sees it
Below each message's content, Customer Segments limits it to signed-in customers, visitors who aren't signed in, or chosen segments or customers. Target visitors based on shows it only when your rules match, such as the page, device or cart value. See Show a campaign to specific customers.
Save and go live
To check it first, click Preview on desktop or Preview on mobile. See Preview a campaign before it goes live.
The status button at the top of the editor starts on Active. Click it to switch to Draft if you aren't ready, then click Save campaign, which is greyed out until you change something, even on a template. An Active campaign set to Run campaign continuously goes live as soon as it is saved.
To run it between set dates, use the Schedule tab, on Scale and Enterprise+. A campaign with a start date goes live at that time, even if the status shows Draft. See Schedule a campaign.
The Design button opens the same settings as Settings > NotiFeed styling. Changes there restyle the whole feed, not only this campaign.
What shoppers see
Your messages appear after any NotiEmail signups and NotiSell rows. Newer campaigns come first, and each campaign's messages keep the order you set. A message with a cart or Exit Intent rule joins the top of your NotiFeed messages once the shopper meets it. The bell's number counts messages the shopper hasn't seen yet in that browser. Hovering over or tapping a message marks it seen.
