What Shopify Sidekick can tell you about your Atomato campaigns

Shopify Sidekick can find your Atomato campaigns, read back what is inside them and report results, and this guide shows how to read its answers.

An orange moon behind dark cloud

Shopify Sidekick, the assistant in your Shopify admin, can now look up your Atomato campaigns. You ask in your own words, and it finds a campaign, tells you what is inside it, reports how it is doing and hands you a link to open it in Atomato.

This guide shows which questions get useful answers, how to read the numbers Sidekick gives back, and where you still need to open Atomato. It is a good habit to build in the weeks before Black Friday, when you have more campaigns to keep track of than usual.

One thing to know first: Sidekick only reads your campaigns. It never creates, edits, pauses or ends one, so asking it questions can't change what shoppers see on your store.

What Sidekick can do with your campaigns

Sidekick works on every plan, including Starter (Free), with NotiFeed, NotiPop, NotiSell and NotiEmail campaigns. NotiSMS signups are built as NotiEmail campaigns, so they are included too. Which campaigns you have depends on your plan: NotiSell is on Scale and Enterprise+, and NotiEmail and NotiSMS are on Enterprise+. Sidekick can:

  • Find campaigns by name, type or status. Part of the name is enough. Each answer lists up to 20 campaigns, most recently updated first.
  • Explain what is inside a campaign: the title, description and button of each message, the steps of a NotiEmail signup and the platform it sends signups to, how a NotiSell campaign picks products and any discount it offers, and when the campaign runs.
  • Report results for one campaign, rank your best campaigns, count your campaigns by status and type, and sum up results across your store.
  • Give you a link that opens the campaign in the Atomato editor. Sidekick shares the link, and you click it.

The full list of what it covers is in the help article Ask Shopify Sidekick about your Atomato campaigns.

Questions worth asking

Plain questions work best. A few to start with:

  • "How many campaigns do I have in Atomato?"
  • "Show my paused NotiPop campaigns."
  • "What's inside my Holiday Announcement campaign?"
  • "Which NotiFeed campaigns did best last week?"
  • "How did my Atomato campaigns do over the last 7 days?"
  • "Give me a link to my Free Shipping campaign."

Sidekick can filter by Active, Draft, Paused, Scheduled (campaign scheduling is on Scale and Enterprise+) or Cancelled, which means ended early. If several campaigns share part of a name, say the full name so it picks the right one. Clear campaign names pay off here: "BFCM 2026 teaser feed" is easier to ask about than "Sale 3-copy".

Sidekick's statuses match the status filters on the Campaigns page in Atomato, so you can check its answer against that list.

A worked example: a Monday check before Black Friday

Say you run a candle store on Scale with five campaigns: three live ones (a sitewide offer in the feed, a shipping cutoff NotiPop and a NotiSell cart add-on) and two scheduled for Black Friday. On Monday morning, before your weekly planning, you open Sidekick and ask four things.

  1. "Show my scheduled Atomato campaigns." You confirm both Black Friday campaigns are there. If one is missing, it may still be a draft.
  2. "What's inside my BFCM 2026 teaser feed campaign?" Sidekick reads back the title, description and button of each message and when the campaign runs. You catch a description that still says "starts Friday" when the sale now starts Thursday.
  3. "Which campaigns did best over the last 7 days?" The ranking puts the cart add-on first and the shipping NotiPop last.
  4. "Give me a link to my BFCM 2026 teaser feed campaign." You click it, fix the date in the Atomato editor and save.

Before, that check meant opening each campaign one by one. After, you ask four questions, then open only the campaign that needs a change. Sidekick reads the campaign back, and you fix it in Atomato. How to read the numbers Sidekick gives you

Sidekick's figures are counted a little differently from the Atomato pages, so read them with these rules in mind.

  • Rankings sort by engagement rate unless you ask for clicks or impressions, and cover the last 7 days unless you name other dates. Sidekick lists up to 10 campaigns at a time.
  • The store summary always covers the last 7 days, today included. It gives impressions, clicks, click-through rate, engagement rate and NotiSell revenue, and compares impressions, clicks and revenue with the 7 days before.
  • One campaign's results show impressions, clicks, click-through rate and engagement rate, plus add-to-carts for NotiSell, and form submissions and email and SMS signups for NotiEmail.

Click-through rate is clicks divided by impressions. Engagement rate adds hovers and dismissals to clicks, then divides by impressions, so a message shoppers often close can rank higher on engagement than on clicks. Hovers and dismissals are only recorded on Scale and Enterprise+, so on Starter (Free) engagement rate counts clicks only. Ask for a ranking by clicks when that is what you care about.

Three details trip people up:

  • For one campaign, impressions, clicks, both rates and add-to-carts are running totals, not totals for the dates you name, even when the answer mentions a period. Only NotiEmail submissions and signups follow your dates.
  • One-campaign answers count unique impressions and clicks, while rankings and the store summary count all of them.
  • Days are counted in UTC, so they can start and end at a different hour from your store's time zone.

To see one campaign's results for chosen dates, open its summary page in Atomato and pick the dates there, as shown in See how a campaign and each message performed.

That page also has the Performance by message table, which shows each message's orders, revenue and revenue per 1,000 impressions, figures Sidekick doesn't give for a single message.

Performance by message on a campaign summary. Revenue per 1k shows -- until a message has enough impressions.

Why the revenue figure can differ from Analytics

The revenue in Sidekick's store summary is the total of orders that include a product added to cart from NotiSell. It leaves out sales that followed clicks on NotiFeed, NotiPop or NotiEmail messages. The Analytics page in Atomato counts revenue that follows clicks on your messages within its attribution windows, and reports NotiEmail discount code revenue separately. Analytics also counts only the matched products at their checkout price, while Sidekick's figure is the whole order total, other items and shipping included, so the two numbers can differ.

If you are on Starter (Free), you don't have NotiSell, so Sidekick's store revenue will not reflect your campaigns. Use the Analytics page for revenue, and Sidekick for finding campaigns, checking content and comparing clicks. Read the Analytics page in Atomato explains how that page counts.

What Sidekick doesn't do

Keep Atomato open for these. Changes happen on the campaign's summary page, with its Pause campaign, Edit campaign, End Early and Delete Campaign buttons.

A campaign's summary page, opened from its name in the list. Analytics follow below.
  • Changes of any kind. Sidekick can't create, edit, pause, end or delete a campaign. Use its link and make the change in Atomato. Pause, end, duplicate or delete a campaign covers each one.
  • Who sees each message. Sidekick doesn't see what a message's customer segments or targeting rules are. Check Customer Segments and Target visitors based on in the campaign editor.
  • Theme Launcher schedules. Check them on the Campaigns page in Atomato.
  • Completed campaigns only. There is no filter for finished campaigns, and they can still appear in lists. Open the Completed tab on the Campaigns page to see only those.
  • Results for chosen dates on one campaign. As above, those numbers are running totals. Use the campaign summary page.

Next step

Open Sidekick in your Shopify admin and ask, "How many campaigns do I have in Atomato?" Then ask what is inside the campaign you plan to run on Black Friday, and read it back against your offer. If anything is out of date, follow the link and fix it in Atomato. When your sale campaigns are ready, our Black Friday Cyber Monday page covers the rest of the plan.
