Why isn't my NotiPop showing, or why does it only show once?
A NotiPop shows once per shopper and browser. Check the trigger, the hide timer and the sticky tab, then test in a private window.
A NotiPop shows once per shopper and browser: once the shopper hovers over it, taps it, closes it or lets it hide on its timer, it stays hidden on later pages and visits in that browser. If it never appears, check its trigger in Display rules and whether your browser has already seen it.
How NotiPop decides when to show
NotiPop is Atomato's small, non-blocking on-site message. In each NotiPop's Display rules on the Setup tab, Appear after sets the trigger: Delay (seconds after the page loads), Scrolled (10% to 100% of the page) or Inactivity (seconds without activity). Hide after sets how long it stays, and ∞ keeps it until the shopper closes it. For the full setup, see Set up a NotiPop and choose when it appears.
On desktop, NotiPops appear at the top right or top left, depending on Desktop position in your NotiPop styling. On phones, they show full width at the bottom of the screen.
Why a NotiPop shows only once
Atomato remembers each NotiPop a browser has seen. It counts as seen when the shopper hovers over it, touches it, clicks its button, closes it or swipes it away, or when it hides on its timer. After that it doesn't show again on later pages or visits in that browser.
That includes you: if you hovered over your NotiPop while checking your store, your browser now skips it.
A NotiPop the shopper never hovered over or touched shows again on the next page. That happens with one set to ∞, or one still on screen when the shopper opens another page. An Inactivity NotiPop can also come back on the same page after another stretch without activity.
Editing a message doesn't reset this, so shoppers who have seen it won't get your new version. A new message, such as one in a duplicated campaign, counts as unseen.
Check the trigger and timing
If a NotiPop never appears, check the Display rules of each message:
- Scrolled is checked only while the shopper scrolls, so it can't appear on a page too short to scroll. At 100%, the shopper has to reach the very bottom.
- Inactivity restarts every time the shopper moves the mouse, presses a key, clicks, touches the screen or scrolls. A shopper who keeps browsing may never see it.
- A long Delay can outlast a quick visit to one page. Several Delay NotiPops show in turn, each waiting its own delay after the previous one appears.
- A Scrolled or Inactivity NotiPop may not show on a page where another NotiPop showed first, especially one still on screen. Using Delay for NotiPops that share pages avoids this.
- A NotiPop waiting on a cart or exit-intent rule ignores Appear after and shows as soon as the rule is met. If it doesn't, see why a cart or exit-intent campaign isn't triggering.
Also check that the campaign is Active, that its audience and page rules include the shopper, and that it fits your plan: on the Free plan, your store shows only one NotiPop campaign, the most recently created active one. Why isn't my campaign showing on my store? walks through these checks.
Let shoppers reopen NotiPops
With Sticky alert tab, pages that have a NotiPop show a small bell tab at the side of the screen whenever no NotiPop is open. Clicking or tapping it shows the page's NotiPops again, including seen ones, and they stay until closed. NotiPops waiting on a cart or exit-intent rule don't come back this way. With Hide it completely, there is no tab, so a closed NotiPop can't be reopened.
To switch, go to Settings > NotiPop styling, or click Design in a NotiPop campaign's editor. Choose an option under Display behavior and click Save. The choice applies to all your NotiPop campaigns.
Test a NotiPop again
To see a NotiPop again, open your store in a private or incognito window, or clear your store's site data, then reload. If the sticky tab is on, clicking it works too. For a full checklist, see how to test Atomato on your store like a new shopper.
